SAFHS 2009

Aberdeen & NE Scotland Family History Society will be hosting the 20th Annual Conference of the Scottish Association of Family History Societies on

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

The venue will be Kings´s College Conference Centre in historic Old Aberdeen.

Themes: Illegitimacy, Poor Relief Records and The Role of DNA in Genealogy have been suggested. Other suggestions will be welcomed.
Speakers: Several well-known experts on genealogical research are to be approached. The Conference themes may be tailored to suit their particular area of expertise.
Charges: There will be no entrance charge to the general Fair, but visitors will have to pay for attending the talks and for food.
Stalls: Other Scottish FHS will be invited to set up stalls, without charge. However, commercial concerns would be liable to a £30 pre-paid booking fee.
Advertising: Quarterly updates of news on SAFHS 2009 will feature in all the Society´s Journals until February 2009. An ad for the event also appears in our new Introductory Leaflets, which were reprinted in August. Other FHS at home and abroad, with which ANESFHS has a Journal-exchange agreement, will be requested to publicise the event during the next few months.

Our aim is to make this the biggest and best SAFHS Conference.
